If you recall the film based on his novel, it makes sense to find him celebrating Pinot Noir. Together we discuss the AVA, the film, his books and his latest novel based in New Zealand. Trekking along Hwy 128, THE VARIETAL SHOW made a stop at Domaine Anderson, to have a chat with winemaker Darrin Low. In a different part of Mendocino, this time just outside the town of Philo, for some wines with true Anderson Valley flavors. Together we discuss the growth of wineries in AV, how the ocean portal affects the grapes and being biodynamic with 100% estate fruit!

Taste with us: Domaine Anderson 2018 Chardonnay, 2021 Rose, 2018 & 2020 Pinot Noir. Plus we go “into the deep” with their 2014 Pinoli Vineyard Pinot Noir!

Aromatic White Wine Festival: February 24-25

Are you ready to #GoMendo?  Join me this weekend at the 13th Annual Aromatic White Wine Festival in Anderson Valley:  A celebration of Alsace  varietals from around the globe.   (Formerly known as the Alsace Festival).

It all begins Saturday morning, February 24, with Educational Sessions, then the afternoon Grand Tasting with over 100 aromatic white wines, perfectly paired with locally prepared small bites.  Followed by an evening Winemaker Dinner at Scharffenberger Cellars focused on locally sourced ingredients and perfectly paired with exquisite wines.  Sunday February 25 commences the Winery Open Houses, at participating tasting rooms.  See the list of wineries and purchase tickets HERE!
